SalamAir Opens Direct Flights Between Bangkok and Muscat

BANGKOK (NNT) - SalamAir, an airline based in Oman, has begun a new three-times-weekly direct service between Muscat and Bangkok, its second Thai destination after Phuket.
According to the airline, the flights between Muscat and Bangkok operate on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays, while return flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Chaiwat Tamthai, Director of the Dubai Office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), said SalamAir’s new Muscat-Bangkok route would benefit the TAT’s plans to expand the Oman market in Thailand. Together with existing Muscat-Phuket flights, it will provide expanded seat capacity and flexible route options for Omani travelers to the kingdom.
SalamAir previously launched its Muscat-Phuket route in December 2019.
The TAT has been working closely with the airline since the pre-pandemic season of 2019-2020 to promote Thailand as a preferred tourist destination in the Oman market. Cooperation between the TAT and SalamAir included a familiarization trip to Phuket for travel agents from the United Arab Emirates in January 2020, and most recently a joint sales promotion that ran from November 1, 2022, to December 15, 2022, promoting Thailand across Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
SalamAir, a low-cost airline founded in 2016, serves more than 30 destinations globally from its base in Muscat, including Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand. Its fleet consists of 180- and 212-seat Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft.
