Thailand supports trade and investment in ASEAN Plus Three member countries

BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha attended the ASEAN Plus Three Leaders’ Interface, with Representatives of East Asia Business Council (EABC), confirming Thailand’s support for trade and investment between ASEAN Plus Three member countries and the EABC.
Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha attended the ASEAN Plus Three Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of EABC via teleconference. It was attended by leaders and representatives of ten members of the ASEAN and the three East Asian states and representatives of the EABC from Japan, Thailand and China, namely Mr. Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization, Mr. Phairush Burapachaisri, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the International Trade Promotion Committee.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the teleconference was to hear suggestions and exchange ideas with the EABC on issues related to trade and investment, as well as to review the situation and economic impact of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Gen Prayut thanked the EABC for supporting, pushing and establishing connectivity of the economy in the ASEAN Plus Three region, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak which has affected human health and the commercial system. The Thai government recognizes the need for the participation by all sectors, especially the business sector, to help effectively manage and solve the economic problems caused by COVID-19.
