Deputy PM drives energy policies to stimulate economy

BANGKOK(NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow, has announced that the Ministry of Energy will continue implementing energy policies that create jobs and generate income for the people.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, opened a workshop to gather opinions from both the public and private sectors on energy, in order to jointly determine the direction and plans for the recovery of the Thai economy.
He emphasized that energy management policies will focus on stimulating the economy by using energy to drive job creation, generate income, establish a foundation for the future and reduce energy costs to lower the cost of living for people. The Ministry of Energy will negotiate with relevant agencies to stabilize energy prices, especially the cost of LPG for households and NGV for motor vehicles. The details are to discussed further.
The Ministry of Energy has been assigned to make a decision on the community power plant project for local economies within 30 days, targeting a launch this year. It’s necessary to ensure that farmers can earn money and benefit from the promotion of biofuel regardless of whether it is gasohol E20 or B10. The Ministry of Energy has also been assigned to hasten the recovery of the economy by using the Energy Conservation Fund as a driving mechanism, find solutions to economic problems, support employment of 400,000-500,000 new graduates and help SMEs.
