The National Human Rights Commission, ASEAN Affairs Department, and the Thai delegation to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights are inviting undergraduates to attend the English human rights debate contest for higher education, in order to select representatives of Thai youths to participate in the debate on human rights at youth level in the ASEAN Community. The contest will be held during 3-6 September 2017 at Chulalongkorn University. 10 prizes including cash prizes, plaques and certificates will be awarded to the winners of the contest. Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Forward Col Pramote Phrom-in has confirmed that authorities will not use violence against instigators of attacks in Pattani and will only adhere to legal measures following a bomb attack on soldiers in Thung Yang Daeng district, Pattani province, which resulted in multiple injuries among army personnel.
