BANGKOK, 29 August 2018 (NNT) - The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) has and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) are jointly holding Bangkok Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation for Addressing Wildlife and Forest Crimes and Attaining SDGs.
The DNP and AIT are currently holding Bangkok Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation for Addressing Wildlife and Forest Crimes and Attaining SDGs until 30 August 2018 at AIT campus in Rangsit area.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's Deputy Permanent-Secretary Wijarn Simachaya presided over the opening ceremony which was attended by the Deputy DNP Director-General Pinsak Suraswadi, as well as delegations from some 30 countries in Asia and Africa.
The deputy DNP director-general, and an official of Nepal's Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, as well as delegates from Lusaka Agreement Task Force gave a press conference. They focused on concerted efforts to combat the illegal trade of wildlife, supportive measures in terms of technology, infrastructure and the financing of the conservation and creation of a support system for countries in the South-South Community, including those in Africa, Asia, and those in Latin America in the future.
