BANGKOK (NNT) - Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn yesterday visited Siam Paragon shopping center, in Pathumwan district of Bangkok, and opened the 53rd Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar, organized by the Thai Red Cross Society and various embassies in Thailand. The fair continues today, with proceeds to be used to assist children, women, people with disabilities, the elderly and underprivileged people in remote areas of the country.
Her Royal Highness visited booths run by 58 participating countries, including the Maldives, the Laos PDR and Poland. Outstanding, high-quality and famous goods are for sale at special prices, especially national, indigenous and handicraft products, such as decorative items made of pearls, snow lotus creams and Chinese home toys, Czech crystal ware and glassware, Mongolian Kashmir garments and leather-ware and Bhutanese jams, honey and mineral water and natural products.
The fair also features the sale of products made by various royal projects, including those of Chai Thung Coffeeshop, wheeled bags and international foods, as well as contemporary art performances from the various participating countries.
