PHITSANULOK (NNT) - Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati has undertaken an activity on behalf of His Majesty the King in Phitsanulok province.
Her Royal Highness yesterday visited Phitsanulok Central Prison in Wang Thong district of Phitsanulok province and granted medical equipment to the Phitsanulok Central Prison, Phitsanulok Prison and Phitsanulok Female Correctional Institution in order to provide inmates with equal access to medical treatment. Her Royal Highness granted items for 28 inmate patients and elderly inmates.
Phitsanulok Central Prison is a high security prison for male inmates who may be serving jail terms from 15 years to life; it currently has 5,118 inmates. Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati also viewed operations and activities at the Female Correctional Institution in Wang Thong district and granted royally endowed items to female patient inmates, elderly female inmates, children of female inmates and pregnant female inmates. Her Royal Highness talked with the female inmates and gave them hope.
Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, went on to view an exhibition on a professional training course that teaches the making of baskets, knitting,Thai clay sculpting, Thai baking, Thai massaging, weaving, laundry and hairdressing. Trainee inmates can earn incomes from the sale of some products and services, after they have served their jail terms. The Phitsanulok Female Correctional Institution has won a royal award for an outstanding professional training course in prison, and currently has 1,015 female inmates.
