BANGKOK(NNT) - The Public Relations Department (PRD) has held a New Year merit making ceremony, with a celebration highlighting familiar Thai products , particularly Thai textiles and the Pinto meal box.

The PRD Director General Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd led department executives, officials, and employees to observe religions rites and join an alms giving ceremony with nine Buddhist monks praying for good fortune in 2020.

On this special occasion, the PRD chief officiated at the department’s New Year celebration highlighting Thai textiles and traditional Pinto Thai meal containers. The meal box, which is a stack of several containers in a cylindrical tower, is used as a symbol of this activity representing the unity of Public Relation offices in eight districts across the country. A video conference also took place among these offices to celebrate the New Year.

The PRD director general and deputy directors general have extended their best wishes to all officials and employees at the Bangkok headquarters and regional offices in a Boss Talk activity, where they stressed the department’s mission to communicate government policies to the general public and create a national communications network.

The PRD will this year promote an environmental campaign encouraging the general public to stop using single-use plastic bags, and instead use reusable fabric bags or Pinto boxes to help reduce waste and support the environment.
