Young weightlifting athlete received as patient under royal patronage

BANGKOK, 5 June 2019 (NNT) - The injured weightlifting athlete "Fa" has been transferred to receive medical treatment in Bangkok today as a patient under royal patronage from Thung Song Hospital in Nakhon Si Thammarat to Phramongkutklao Hospital in Bangkok by helicopter. The young athlete is in good spirit and ready to receive treatment to regain her mobility.

Staff at Thung Song Hospital in Nakhon Si Thammarat this morning transferred Miss Nattathida Suchatpong, a weightlifting athlete from Nakhon Si Thammarat Sports School who has been injured during training resulting in her inability to move, from the patient ward to Wing 7 Surat Thani Royal Thai Air Force Base by an ambulance. She was then referred on a helicopter to Don Muang Airport in Bangkok for further transportation to Phramongkutklao Hospital where she will be receiving further medical treatments.

During the transportation, the young athlete know by her nickname "Fa" is reported to be in good spirit, and told reporters she is not afraid and ready to fight for her recovery. She was accompanied by her parents who carried with them the royal portrait of His Majesty the King to whom they feel grateful for his graciousness.

Doctors at Thung Song hospital expects Fa to regain her walking ability, suggesting she receive treatment from specialized doctors at Phramongkutklao Hospital. Her conditions require patient transport by airlifting to prevent damage. Her family has been reaching out to the general public and organizations through the media for assistance, leading to her being received as a patient under the royal patronage of His Majesty the King.
