BANGKOK, 13 May 2019 (NNT) - The Public Relations Department and National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission will hold a Luk Thung Singing Championship for a royal cup and one million baht in prize money.
The contest, which will be held in the auditorium of the Public Relations Department, is designed to preserve the art, culture, custom and tradition of Thailand. The winner will be awarded a royal cup of His Majesty the King, plus a one million baht prize while the first runner-up will be awarded a cup of honor from the Prime Minister, plus a 500,000 baht prize, the second runner-up will be awarded a cup of honor from the NBTC chairman, plus a 300,000 baht prize and three cups of honor will be awarded by PTT, plus a 100,000 baht prize each.
The contest will take five consecutive weeks with 12 contestants for each week. Six contestants will qualify for the final.
The first week of the contest, which began on Monday, was attended by Public Relations Department Director General Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkamnerd and Deputy Public Relations Department Directors General Phitchaya Muangnao and Thassanee Pholchaniko. The subsequent weeks of the singing contest are scheduled for May 19, May 26, June 9 and June 16.
