BANGKOK, 21 April 2019 (NNT) - On efforts to solve traffic congestion in the Thonburi area and around Siriraj hospital, the Deputy Governor of Bangkok has visited the construction site of the Arun Amarin bridge expansion to study progress. The expanded bridge is expected to be completed in February next year.

Deputy Governor of Bangkok Jakkapan Phiewngam followed up on the construction work involved in the Arun Amarin bridge expansion, which will give the bridge six traffic lanes rather than four, along with the construction of a two-lane Siriraj intersection passover along Arun Amarin road in front of the Naval Dockyard Department, and the construction of a sky walk from Soi Itsaraphab 44 to the 2nd floor of Siriraj hospital’s OPD building.

These projects commenced construction in early 2018. It is expected all construction will be complete in February 2020, and will greatly improve the convenience of Siriraj hospital’s patients and visitors, as well as that of road users, providing a better road network connection to enable faster and more fluid transport from Thonburi into surrounding areas.
