BANGKOK, 19 April 2019 (NNT)- The Election Commission has resolved to have the votes in Nakhon Pathom’s Constituency 1 recounted after nearly four weeks since last month’s election of MPs.
Deputy Election Commisson Secretary General Sawaeng Boonmee said the EC resolved on Thursday to have the votes from all 236 polling units of Constituency One of Nakhon Pathom, plus nine other units outside of the central province and overseas, recounted. The provincial branch of the Election Commission is yet to set the date and venue for the recounting of the votes as well as to name members of a new vote-counting committee.
Besides, the EC has also resolved to call a by-election scheduled for April 28 at the ninth polling unit of Constituency 2 in Tambon Song Phee Nong in Tha Sae district of Chumphorn after the number of voters who went to the poll was found to be contradictory to the number of ballots cast at that polling unit.
Meanwhile, the election committee of Khon Kaen’s Constituency 3 has recounted the votes at two polling units in Tambon Bua Yai and in Tambon Muang Warn of Nam Phong district due to the contradictory numbers between the voters and cast ballots. Representatives of contestant candidates, political parties and other people observed the recounting of the votes which was recorded and stored for future uses.
