BANGKOK, 18 April 2019 (NNT) -Ninety-five percent of welfare cards have been distributed to those who registered for additional welfare cards under the Thai Niyom Yangyuen Project. Those who have not received their welfare card can collect it at a provincial office of finance, or a district office in Bangkok.
Mrs.Yanee Sangsrichun, the spokesperson of the Comptroller General’s Department (CGD), disclosed today that the CGD has assigned the provincial offices of finance and financial doctor teams in 76 provinces, to distribute welfare cards to eligible persons in the project for the registration of additional welfare card under the Thai Niyom Yangyuen Project for the disabled, the elderly, bed-ridden patients or those who couldn’t register for the welfare card in 2017 and have not yet received the welfare card from the Thai Niyom Yangyuen teams and district offices on March 1, 2019.
The CGD has already produced welfare cards for 3.12 million eligible persons and distributed 2.98 welfare cards to those eligible. This includes the second group of 78,572 eligible persons whose information was not clear or incorrect. In all they account for 95.62 percent.
Eligible persons who have not yet received their welfare card can pick it up themselves at the provincial office or in Bangkok according to their registered current address. They must present their real identity card to collect the welfare card and sign a document to confirm their have received the welfare card or assign their proxy to collect it.
Such eligible persons will be able to use their welfare card on the second day after they collect it as the welfare card must be activated to prevent those who do not have the right to use the balance in the welfare card from using it.
