BANGKOK, 17 April 2019 (NNT) - The Department of Land Transport is inviting those who are interested in being cross-border transport operators linking Thailand, Laos and Vietnam, and Thailand and Cambodia, to submit their applications by April 23, 2019.
The Department of Land Transport (DLT) is accepting applications for international passenger and cargo transport operators under the Memorandum of Understanding on the exchange of traffic rights between Thailand and Cambodia according to the 61 agreements on Cross-Border Transport in the Greater Mekong Subregion.
The DLT is also accepting applications for international cargo operators under the Memorandum of Understanding between Thailand, Laos and Vietnam, accessing 218 agreements on cross-border transport in the Greater Mekong Sub-region at the Mukdahan-Savannakhet and Dan Savan-Lao Bao border crossing points.
Interested individuals can submit an application at the Bureau of Transport and the Bureau of Passenger Transport, DLT, or the provincial offices of land transport until April 23, 2019, or download the application form on www.dlt.go.th.
DLT Director General Pheeraphol Thawornsuphacharoen has emphasized that the operators must be fully qualified and accept and comply with the regulations and conditions, as well as develop the quality of the service to meet international standards, to create confidence and wide opportunities for business operations in a sustainable manner in order to link the transport systems of the countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region which will benefit economically.
