BANGKOK, 15 April 2019 (NNT) - A large number of people are visiting the National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, to donate their blood to make merit and help their fellow human beings.
Despite a Songkran holiday, some people visited the National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, to donate blood under a campaign which encourages people to donate blood during the dry season. The campaign has been operating since April 8, 2019. Blood donors who wear a flower printed T-shirt will be given a T-shirt printed with a message Hello Summer Give Blood Save Lives.
The National Blood Center has to store at least 3,000 units of blood per day in case of emergencies especially during the Songkran festival when 4,000-5,000 units of blood per day on average are needed.
In Bangkok, people can donate blood at the National Blood Center on Henri Dunant Road, Blood and Plasma Donation Center, and the Red Cross Station 11 Wiset Niyom, Bang Khae, from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
Blood donors must be between 17-70 years old, weigh 45 kilograms or more. They must be healthy without any chronic illness and have had enough rest. Each person can donate 350-450 units every three months
