BANGKOK, 13 April 2019 (NNT) - The monthly allowance for low-income elderly persons has been extended by another three months while state welfare card holders will be entitled to more money for power bills.
The Administrative Committee for Elderly Persons Fund has resolved to extend the monthly allowance for low-income elderly persons registered under the state welfare project for another three months, started from April until June 2019.
The elderly persons who may earn no more than 30,000 baht in a year are entitled to 100 baht in monthly allowance while those who may earn more than 30,000 baht but no more than 100,000 baht in a year are entitled to 50 baht in monthly allowance. The Department of Comptroller General will transfer the money to the recipients via its electronic purse on the 15th of the month.
Meanwhile, low-income earners who have paid bills for the electricity provided by the Navy’s power generating unit will have a maximum of 230 baht in allowance per household. The Department of Comptroller General will begin to pay for the power allowance via its electronic purse on the 18th of the month, beginning May 18.
