BANGKOK, 31 July 2010 (NNT) — Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on Saturday graciously presided over the opening of the National Women Day event 2010 at the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall.
The Princess arrived at the event amid warm welcome by the Minister of Social Development and Human Security Issara Somchai as well as the Honorary Chairperson of the National Council of Women of Thailand, Khunying Natthika Wattanavekin Angubolkul.
After attending the Candle-lit procession and paying respect to the Holy Relics of the Buddha, the Princess inspected the exhibition launched to highlight the importance of the Thai women. Photos of the Princess taken at the event will also be processed into stamps marking the occasion.
The Princess then took photos with a group of women who obtained awards for their outstanding roles in helping promote the importance of the female gender in the Thai society.
