AOT launches new logo for Suvarnabhumi Airport

BANGKOK, 18 January 2010 (NNT) - The Airports of Thailand Plc (AOT) has unveiled the official logo for Suvarnabhumi Airport which portrays the prosperity of the airport and its ambition to become leader in the air transport business.

The logo was selected from over 600 entries in a design contest recently organized by the AOT to create good images for the airport, explained AOT President Serirat Prasutanond.

The winning logo is a graphical abstraction symbolizing a rising flight which implies the airport’s continuous development and leadership in the aviation business.

The selection criteria were based on styles and colors and how well it could represent the meaning of ‘Suvarnabhumi’ or ‘golden land’. Consideration was also given to a modernized style of the logo which should be easy to remember and reflect Thainess as well as international recognition. The awarded logo was designed by Mr Taothai Suksirithada who would receive a 100,000 THB cash and a royal trophy from HRH Princess Soamsawali on 26 January 2010. The presentation ceremony will be held at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
