BANGKOK, 17 December 2009 (NNT) – Defense Minister, General Prawit Wongsuwan, assures safety for people during the 2010 New Year festival.
General Prawit said Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs, Suthep Thaugsuban, had instructed government officers, especially the police, to step up security measures for the new year celebrations. He said the army was always ready to assist and support the police’s operations upon their requests.
General Prawit continued to say that there had been no report of any unrest instigation or potential trouble in the Kingdom thus far.
