First 2 swine flu deaths in Thailand reported  
 
BANGKOK, 27 June 2009 (NNT) - The Ministry of Public Health has reported that 2 influenza A (H1N1) patients in Thailand have died. The ministry have also asked people to not panic over the matter.

Director of the Medical Council of Thailand, Dr. Raewat Wisarutvej, admitted that there were 2 reported deaths in Thailand linked to influenza A (H1N1). The first one is a 40 year old woman who passed away on 20 June and the second is a 40 year old man who died yesterday. The Director urged the general public to not panic as 90% of swine flu patients made a full recovery without any medical treatment.

The Minister of Public Health will hold a press conference to clarify all information soon. Presently, Thailand has validated a total of 1,130 cases of swine flu infection with 1,110 of the patients already cleared of illness.
