BANGKOK, 19 June 2009 (NNT) - The National Statistic Office indicated that 98.2 percent of people were satisfied with the government’s 15 year free education policy, said Education Minister Jurin Laksanawisit.
Mr. Jurin indicated that the National Statistic Office had surveyed the opinions of 7,800 people nationwide on the government’s 15 year free education scheme. He said the survey showed that 98.2% of the respondents were satisfied with the policy, while 97.9% would like the policy to be continued.
Meanwhile, Mr. Rangsan Maneelek, the Director of the Office of Basic Education Commission’s Office of Policy and Planning, stated that the office would hold an activity at Satriwithaya 2 School on June 21 to collect donations worth 40 million baht to be given to over 500 schools in the rural areas. He urged the schools receiving the donation to spend the grants on developing their educational standards in order to encourage more donations in the coming year.
