The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) explained that the closed circuit television or CCTV could be out of order if it was crashed or there was an interruption of electric current.
An officer from BMA revealed that CCTV at Bang Khun Phrom Junction was out of order prior to the day Mr. Sondhi Limthongkul, a core leader of People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) was ambushed, because of the problem of its controller box.
He said this box, like a computer’s hard disk, could get damaged if it was crashed or its electric current was interrupted. Therefore, that CCTV could not record the situation of the attack on Mr. Sondhi.
The BMA officer added although the CCTV at Bang Khun Phrom junction could not record the situation, BMA had sent a real time picture of the situation to security-related agencies including the Royal Thai Police to be used in following up the case.
