The suspect of committing lèse majesté on websites is detained at the court with police’s objection to bail.
Officers of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) took the lese majeste suspect Suwicha (ÊØÇÔªÒ) or Chinnaphat Thakhor (ªÔ¹ÀÑÊÃì ·èÒ¤éÍ) to the court today (January 17th) for a 12-day detention. 15 more witnesses are waiting to be interrogated. Three computers, CDs, and documents are being inspected by police.
The DSI lodged a bail objection with the court due to concerns that the suspect would flee and repeat his crime. Mr Suwicha was alleged of publicizing images in contempt of the His Majesty the King and his heir on websites.
The suspect was arrested on January 14th in front of Suwan Karn Chang (ÊØÇÃó¡ÒêèÒ§) Shop in Mueang district, Nakhon Phanom province.
