Free truck and bus driving lessons to be offered to jobless  
 
The Department of Land Transport (DLT) prepares to assist jobless people with lessons on truck and bus driving for free of charge.

Director-General of the DLT Chairat Sa-nguansue (ªÑÂÃѵ¹ì ʧǹª×èÍ) said that Transport Minister Sophon Saram (âÊÀ³ «ÒÃÑÁÂì) has unveiled his policy for helping the unemployed by providing them with career opportunities. Therefore, a project is currently underway as part of such policy to allow those interested in becoming truck and bus drivers to be trained for free of charge with food, accommodation, and allowance included.

Mr. Chairat elaborated that two courses are expected to be opened within March with a capacity of 100 students each. A one-month course will be available for people who can drive regular cars and want to learn driving large vehicles like trucks and buses while a two-month course will train those who cannot drive at all. At the initial stage of the project, the classes will be conducted at the DLT offices in Jatujak district and Lam Luk Ka district, Pathum Thani, and will later be expanded to Phetchabun and Chaiyaphum provinces.
