The Democrat Party earlier held a meeting today (July, 29th) between a committee responsible for the selection of the party’s Bangkok governor candidate. The meeting was presided over by Banyat Bantadtan (ºÑÑµÔ ºÃ÷Ѵ°Ò¹).
Mr Banyat said the party will not propose any one except for Mr Apirak Kosayodhin to run for the Bangkok governor post.
As for the fire truck and boat scandal which involves Mr Apirak, Mr Banyat said that the case’s investigation by the Assets Examination Committee (AEC) does not indicate that Mr Apirak is guilty of the charges.
At the same time, Mr Apirak will be proposed to the party leader and the secretary-general of the Democrat party before a meeting on August 1st to authorize and officially appoint him as a governor candidate.
