Commerce Ministry joins hand with Police in suppressing piracy  
 
The Ministry of Commerce is set to join hands with police in suppressing piracy.

Deputy Minister of Commerce Pol.Lt.Col.Banying Tangpakorn (ºÃÃÂÔ¹ µÑé§Àҡóì) says the ministry will request the Office of the Prime Minister to set up a committee to work with the police in tackling products which violate intellectual property rights. The police and the Customs Department are the main government units responsible for confiscation of pirated goods while other units will support them in terms of information, he says.

The United States Trade Representatives or USTR has recently removed Thailand from the Watch List to the Priority Watch List due to increasing piracy in the country.
