Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade, Yanyong Puangrach (ÂÃç ¾Ç§ÃÒª), says the Ministry of Commerce did not authorize metal and cement price increases as requested by the entrepreneurs.
The director-general speculates that there might be hoarding of metal and cement in the next 1-2 days and the department will dispatch officials to inspect the prices.
As for the palm oil situation, Mr Yanyong says the ministry has approved a 4 baht increase per bottle for palm oil since January 25th. However, the prices might drop following the import of palm oil and palm produce next month, the director-general says.
