EC to enable Parliament to convene by January 15th

The Election Commission (EC) has affirmed that it will process red and yellow card cases so that there are enough members of parliament for the house to meet by January 15th. EC member Praphan Naikowit stated that the EC is confident it can approve enough MPs and process enough cases by January 15th to allow parliament to convene.

The newly established constitution deems that 95 percent of the parliament must be available to hold a meeting with a number of 456 MPs. At the moment the EC is still processing candidates who submitted their credentials and reported for duty.

A major factor is also the ongoing issue of red and yellow cards which has made the amount of MPs available for duty ambiguous.
