Minimum wages to increase by 1-7 baht  
 
Deputy Government Spokesman Chotechai Suwannaporn (⪵ԪÑÂ ÊØÇÃóÒÀóì) discloses that the Cabinet meeting has approved a minimum wage increase as requested by the Ministry of Labour by 1-7 baht a day. The new wage rates will take effect on January 1, 2008.

According to the deputy government spokesman, the minimum wages will be raised due to higher commodity and oil prices.

The minimum wages in Phuket will increase the most by 7 baht to 193 baht while Bangkok and the vicinities will raise the wages by 3 baht to 194 baht.
