BANGKOK, 29 September 2014 (NNT) - A team of doctors from Siriraj Hospital has reportedly made a progress in its research to develop a vaccine to cure the deadly Ebola virus.

According to a local newspaper, the research team at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was able to produce antibodies which would be used in the development of vaccine against Ebola.

A press conference to announce details of the research result is set for October 2, 2014 at the Srisavarinthira Building. The press conference is expected to be presided over by Doctor Udom Kachintorn, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital.

So far, the Ebola outbreak has claimed thousands of lives globally and has a tendency to spread across nations. As there was no known cure for Ebola, the doctors at Siriraj Hospital have made it a priority policy to develop a vaccine for the virus.
